For the 2nd time in 5 weeks, I have exceeded my allotted usage on my Wild Blue Internet service. So I have been punished by having my connection s-l-o-w-e-d down so much that I can't get on line to do anything until my banishment is removed.

Once I do get back online, I will have to limit my interactions so not to exceed this again. Being new to DA and barely knowing my way around makes it a problem for me. So how do I limit the DA's that come in – sometimes one entry with have several 100 DA to look at. I was told by Wild Blue that as soon as I log into my profile all the DA's, messages, notes, views whatever are downloaded and that is where I am using all my allotment.

Today I am on DA from a friend's, but coming here every day is not going to work.  For now I am un-watching for my groups and others. My messages/notes will go to a personal email that my wife can check at work.

Living where I do, I don't have any options except Wild Blue, Hughes Net – basically the same as Wild Blue and the local dial up – in the next 2-3 years we are supposed to have broadband throughout the county – but that doesn't help me now. My phone carrier is teamed up with Verizon but it doesn't help since we only have cell phone signal if we drive 8 miles closer to the tower- if you can see the tower you get a signal.

Any suggestions on stopping all the auto downloads but allowing me to keep in contact for messages and notes? As you all know I have limited computer knowledge so any suggestions would be great, but need to be given in baby steps so even I can follow them!

Thanks for all your help – hope to be in touch again soon!
